You have to send it to V1 to get it upgraded. There is a section on V1 website which will tell you if upgrades are available and how much it will cost you.

Yes, Police radar has to be on for V1 to alert you. RadarDetectors are almost like portable FM radio but it looks for different frequency’s. For V1 to work Police radar needs to send out the frequency that V1 is looking for.

Got mine a week ago this will definetly come in handy I have a question thoug is it possible to program the radar to alarm you when there are any police in the area or is it just strictly radar?

i have my v1 on long L and there it was 2 cops and didnt go off. because they dindnt have theyre radars on or whats goin on i dont get it
