This was not a lethal force situation so a gun would not be appropriate. Incidentally, the suspect just received $40K from the State of Utah in a settlement.

Would the occifer have been justified to shoot the suspect with a gun?
The Taser is billed as a less lethal weapon than a gun. But would a gun have been used in this situation?

This about the dumbest video commentary I have ever heard.

The Trooper pulled his taser within SECONDS of telling him to turn around. No second request, no raising of his voice, he just pulled a taser which looks a lot like a gun.

I would retreat to if I thought a cop was going to shoot/kill me.

When an officer tells you to turn around and place your hands behind your back, as the officer did, not doing so is resisting arrest.

what was he doing to resist arrest?

The guy was Tasered for resisting arrest, not for refusing to sign a citation. There is a big difference.

This video isn’t funny or clever at all. That guy resisted arrest and had a smart mouth. He was asking to be tased.

Signing a traffic ticket only means you received the ticket. It carries NO admission of guilt. You, or your lawyer, can contest the ticket in court.

we loosing America at the hands of undertraining cops w/ very low iq ,is not valid excuses, is just an abuse,I bet if the guy has a gun and show this to the cop this will run and ask for help all over the state radioed the national guard, but HE know who pull over,He can tell is no risk there them …why not little sadism.- Bad social decise get this cop….I whish
