It's too bad that the TrueLock on the Escort 9500i and Escort 9500ix blocks out police radar when you are trying to quiet down false alerts.

This shortsighted comment reflects a lack of understanding of how TrueLock works. First, experienced RD users know that TrueLock rejects a signal only after it has identified both a specific location and a specific frequency. Second, the 9500ix has the intelligence to automatically remove user incorrectly marked loctions - it continually updates its interanl database and removes marked locations that no longer have previously marked signals! The 9500ix is truly awesome engineering.

Shortsighted??? Everybody, just go to radardetectordotnet and users are talking about how their Escort 9500i or Escort 9500ix has blocked out actual police radar because of the flawed TrueLock GPS crap. There are also reports that Escort is not fixing the problem with the Escort 9500ix where it won't unlock signals that no longer exist which could result in a ticket. I understand how TrueLock is supposed to work...I just don't understand why Escort lies to its customers.

Just wondering, because I had just bought the 9500ix today. As I was driving the unit had automatically marked a false alarm (The Walgreen's automatics doors always set it off on my old Cobra), but it just so happens that a officer usually tends to hide directly behind the pharmacy. So what I am asking is, does is actually recognize the location of the false alarm and the frequency?

When you go buy the walgreen's 3 times it will beep then store it in the detector. Then in the future it stays quiet and only satelite picture on detector spins.
