My New Radar Detector

I read that you don’t normally mount your detector like that, but for anyone that does, bend the metal bracket on the back and make the detector level for improved performance. I do it for both my Whistler XTR-695 and Cobra 9960G.(The 9960G /9955 is the first cobra detector I’ve seen that doesn’t leak radar.)

NO! It was the cheapest one Best Buy had. I regret buying it. I sold it for 20 bucks to a pawn shop a few weeks ago.

it looks like your RD is faceing the sky i see lots of people have it like this in my town get a leve out and leve it just under your mirror i think it’s better this way becuase it’s eye leve and also nice and high for a good view of the road

actually, it’s not a joke. it was when i first got the dang thing. and I have it right. As u can tell it’s a very old video. I wanted to make a quick video so I just snapped the thing on and showed yall it.

Dumb pigs!!?? I dont think they are the dumb ones, fuken cobras always giving me V1 false KA fuken pisses me off

Wow. First of all Cobra falses awful (especially on KA). Second of all Cobras make other RDs false because they leak. Third, that thing is mounted completely wrong. You are supposed to bend the mount so that its level and while it is debatable it is probably best mount it high just below the tint strip. Upgrading to a better RD wouldn’t hurt either. Generally $250+ detectors will do the job.

ya i know that most of the time when they are doing speed traps though is still only picks up when they are like 40 feet from the car and it was suppose to pick up to 3 miles away i sent a message to cobra cause i’m not happy they said if i get a ticket and it doesn’t beep they will pay for it so w/e

U do know it only dectects if da cops have thier speed radars on. If they don’t it won’t go of at all. this cheap one works preaty damn good.

i bought the top of the line cobra one it hardly ever picks up on the cops unless i’m like right ontop of them

Not 2 be cruel but, that’s not the best radar u got man.

Try and mount that thing as level with the road as you can. It won’t perform as well pointing at the sky like that.
