After reading many reviews of this and different models I bought this on 9/23/09.

I knew there would be some false alerts. For the first month (on a road trip in early October) it worked fine. However since then this unit has begun reporting so many false alerts as to be virtually useless…not just in 1 band (X), but also, KA, POP, Spectre4.

It is now November 9th and it has developed a short in the power cord over the last week. It will reboot on any minor bump in the road and ignore some larger ones. In 1 mile coming home it constantly rebooted because of the road surface – not too useful. It even rebooted when entering my driveway.

Go find another product that offers quality, durability and a reasonable price. This one doesn’t. This one is destined to be a high priced contribution to the landfill.

No,, it sucks. There are too many false alerts!! Even in the middle of the Nevada desert, I get alerts but there is no one around. And then it would go off right on top of the police.

And I got a ticket because the thing picked up the waves too late. I am going to look into getting my money back from Amazon. I am

most definately going to write the company and tell them of my displeasure of their product. All of those “special” alerts and bands,, did not help me. The ticket is $57. I would say,, try another brand.

I could not even rate this product,, they had no negative stars!!

Item arrived quickly but just after a few days I realized I had a defective detector. The sensitivity was way too low. Even approaching a radar sign I would see my speed long before the detector went off. Even sitting 5 feet in front of the sign the detector never went over one bar. I contacted Cobra customer service and they were very helpful. Even sent a prepaid UPS label to send it back. Waiting on the new detector to make my final call.

great product, I like the voice that tells me to quick step on the brakes. it’s a little annoying in the city when there are a lot of false signals, but it’s worth it.

This cobra has worked flawlessly. Great value for the money.

The compass calibration is more effort than it is worth but the radar

warns you long before the radar guns have you.
