I wouldnt depend on the cop not showing TBH mate. not worth the risk.

Also, do not piss off the cops by jamming their guns or they might pull you over and nail you for it or something else they can think of at the time.

JTG (jam to gun) is a dodgy practice and it also causes problems for other people that use jammers also when they are made illegal.

Just slow to PSL and shut it off and you will be fine and nobody will be the wiser ;-)

If you speed then you either pay a jammer company or you pay your local government.

damn. see i’m trying to debate whether i need one because one time i got a speeding ticket i went to court to fight it and the cop didn’t show so it was dropped. apart from that i have maybe been radared or lasered once or twice this past year none of which i was even speeding. But maybe i’ll invest in one just to speed around and piss of the cops by jamming their guns.

Think of the cost of a ticket? My laser ticket before i had a jammer cost a total $475. I thought I was so cool with my fancy radardetector by the time i jammed on the brakes the officier was pulling out into traffic

There is none. Robm425 is correct. Your right foot cannot move faster than the speed of light. If you’re not jamming, you’re screwed. Period. Laser detection on a radar detection is a moot point. Don’t give it a second thought, because it is useless. Always mount the detector high for optimum radar range and stealth.

so in your opinion what is the best way to increase reaction time to brake without utilizing a laser jammer. They are just way way to expensive. I was wondering, would ir absorbing film work or does the gun actually just calculate visible light reflecting back?

Ok keep on thinking that Lidar gun take 1-2second to get a speed Doesn’t matter without a plate I can get a non-metallic black c4covette with headlights down at 1100ft

you need to figure at 65mph you are going 95feet persecond, average reaction time is a second by the time you slow just about to press brakes he has got you.

I have tried and others have tried to out brake laser. All have failed

yeah maybe you are, but for a cop that’s a different story to hold up in court. My buddies got off with tickets that were given to them where they were targeted at 1500ft. But then again I didn’t say you can’t target a car at that distance but a car that is made less reflective to lidar. So the points that you may target may give the driver enough warning to brake enough to not get a ticket.

I have no trouble targeting cars with no front plate at 3000ft. But then again I am a trained lidar operator and shoot laser guns alot

for example take these statistics

Georgia license plate, by itself = 2577 ft.
Colorado license plate, by itself = 1339 ft.
With no plate- detection range of a Mazda RX7 with headlights retracted is around 800 ft.
No plate, and the lights covered – detection range < 500 ft.

So by the time you become detectable your detector would have already gone of from them trying to target you and given you enough time to slow down before they retarget you

You don’t really need a jammer because A detector will save you sometimes If they target a car ahead of you, and you are ideally situated behind the car to detect the lidar, your detector will go off.
Also reduced relectivity of your car such as taking of your front plate will save you at long range. If they are targeting cars at 1000 feet, and your car has reduced reflectivity, they don’t get a speed reading until you come into range which is about the 800ft mark.

I have a V1 and Beltronics Vector 995. And I also have a 4 head Laser interceptor

It’s funny you say that. I always keep my RD right under the rearview mirror. I moved it there to see if I could get anything. And, I’m also looking into installing a Laser Interceptor ($700). I’m assuming you have a V1?

Time for a laser jammer! Thats your only protection versus laser. And to Clarify the V1 can mount high and still detect laser perfectly…I recommend all detector users to mount their detector high as there is no protection versus laser unless you have a laser jammer so any alert is a guaranteed ticket
