wow, great range over a hill, i have a 9500ix and its a little better than the vector 995, but costs a lot more, well done beltronics

you really cant beat the bel radar detectors. i love em. im selling one of these babies if anyone wants to buy it. its the 965. its the same detection range and functionality, except it doesnt have ku band, which is only used in europe and NOT in the US. so why pay for something you dont need? these go for well over 200 but ill take 160. go to ebay and search vector 965 and its yours! thanks!

i also love the nice tone the beltronics makes when ka ban is detected its not hurt full to the ears but its enough to let you know. not escort it sounds like an alarm going off also tho its a good thing because you wont miss the alert it hurts my ears

thats good performance beltronics does very well

careful tho, this is very comonyl done, u get used to falses and then asume ther is no cop but they know where their are falses to as they check and then sit there randomly and boom, your done. so id still slow down in the false areas that are say crowded and many cars travel or at high speeds but if its like a little rural road or somthing you probably dont need to worry.

yeah laser is pretty much impossible to avoid without countermeasures like laser jammers (yes laser jammers do work, radar jammers do not however). within a 1/100 of a second the laser gun will have your speed and theres really nothing you can do about it unless you have a jammer… Search for Blinder Laser Jammer on here and im sure theres some videos of it

ahhh, only thing i thought that coulda been done better on this is if laser could be picked up alot faster, i gotta call from my dad a few min after i replied to your comment and he was tellin me that the laser is some what useless if you’re leading a “pack” of cars due to the fact that as soon as the radar picks it up, he has your speed readings….your thoughts on this?

x band and K band are public use radars, Ka is only police and military.

i run mine in highway mode. X, SWS, POP off. pop mode on can cause a lot of false’s and isnt really necessary because it has a low reliability rate and 99.99% of judges will throw out a ticket given using only POP with no constant radar back up. Having POP on might give you an extra second to react but the false’s null the effectiveness because youll begin to assume that all POP hits are falses

2) whats usually best mode to have it set in? i had mine on autoscan + pop mode and it spiked up bout half way as i passed 2 police cars, but didnt give a full warning…..so im confused as to whether or not it was because of pop mode being on or if it was because of auto scan

the V995 doesn’t adjust to door openers because its still the same radar as a police radar. The detector cannot differentiate between a police radar and door opener radar. i have x band turned off because it isn’t commonly used around here by police so that has cut down doors a lot, but i still get K falses but im used to these locations so i know when to expect them.

with your V995, did it start to recognize the difference between door openers and motion detectors within a first few weeks of use?
i.e after using it for a while, will it stop picking up door openers and motion sensors?

radar detectors will not pick up a police officer that does not have radar on, thus the name, it detects radar.

also police dont have detectors, they have radar.

so if a police didn’t have a detector on at the moment you pass by him speeding on the free way, you are essentially screwed because the radar won’t detect anything, but the police can just chase after you knowing that your car is moving a lot faster than everyone elses?

are you sure you understand how a radar detector works? I picked up Ka band because that is what band the LEO was using. I can pick up bike cops if they have radar on. its not a police detector it detects radar signals.

No programing involved, comes with the standard rev from the factory, but i can send it back and have it updated if i wanted to when the new rev comes out, yours you might not be able to however

Hey man, I got a Beltronics 940. What band is yours on, when you detected that cop? And another thing, does your 995 detect police on motorcycles? And if you wanted to use the detector correctly, is there any programming involved? Reply back, thanks

I own a Blinder and have tested it extensivly it does a pretty good job, but a Pro Laser III lidar gun still punches through about 50% of the time. Also, cops dont keep anything legal or illegal, we enforce laws we dont make them, your state legislature makes them. I could care less if they were legal or illegal, most people dont have them so it really makes no difference.

No such thing as a laser jammer? haha okay. Type in “lpp or anti laser” in the search box on youtube here and check it out. The blinder sucky as it is makes the Pro Laser its bitch

I have a version 3.6 and i never had a problem where it jumped from 1 to 4. I think it ramped up consistently but the full ramp up isn’t a good indicator of signal strength like the V1. Lets just say Bell doesnt have very much differentiation of sound in their ramp up like the v1 and x50 do.

yeah the ramp on the 995 is a BIG problem… still gives plenty of warning dont get me wrong but itll go from 1 to 4 despite being completely flat… im hoping that its just increases in reflections causing it to spike

yeah the prolaser III is the easiest to jam….

yup i never got a response from trooper because i guess he finally realized his little poor laser gun can be jammed…oh well even if those didn’t work there’s still veil which def works, i love how cops know nothing of speed detection devices.
