Ok. The test was done for North California.
I passed dozens cops and Bel940 never went out. He went out many times like crazy when I was passing plazas.K-band went out hundreds times and only couple times it was road sign radars. I never saw a cop for k-band. Forget X-band. This is useless appendix at all along with K-band I’d say. SFW – safety alert never ever shown a sign of live. I passed many constructions zones, emergency vehicles (with sirens on), railroads intersections Bel never “ringed”. Settings of Bel allow you set either STD-standard mode or MOD-modified. Last one allows you to set POP & SWF. But Instruction recommend STD (which I guess does not have POP&SWF). Anyway I’ve tried all mods. Ka-band is only for cops and it works well. As for “X-low” to low sensibility of X-band (good only if you want to know if automatic door opened in passing by grocery store) it does not low sensibility a bit. Laser alert never went, neither POP nor SWF (which by Instruction has 64 inbuilt alert signals). And I was passing cops which were definitely waiting for some prey on a side road with engine on. After all experience I can’t confirm that this is “all band radar and laser coverage” if only one Ka-band alert you if there is a radar really turned on your car. I had “Cobra 9430″ before. And I’d say it did the same good as Bel. Well maybe Bel has a little better range, but Cobra9430 saved my a& many times till it was stolen. I had a lot more warnings for Ka-band with Cobra than I do now with Beltronics Vektor 940. Well anyway cops not always checking your speed with radars. Most of the time they just driving behind you and watching they speedometers. Especially at night when you can’t see them till it’s late. The moral is: the more expensive radar detector you buy the more you are needed to buy pampers if you going to relay on this detector only otherwise drive safely. As for me I don’t speed too much and this detector just for help to control my speed. Do not relay on detectors only.

I was not happy with the shipping as well as the product. I paid for next day delivery and took off for that day from work only to get it 3 days later. My whistler 90 was better than this product. I would love to return this product but you only get 50% of your money back if you open the product. So how are you suppose to test it if you don’t open it. Hhmmm. Food for thought.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my dad. I selected it as a high-quality brand but without too many bells and whistles that my dad doesn’t need. Pricing was good compared to others. I can’t speak too much to its functionality since I’m not the user.

Worked fine before it died. But it’s very expensive to replace every 4 months, I hope the warranty fix lasts!

Understandably, while using the product for the first time it was apparent that similarities of previous models used helped in its scoring. While it did detect all the cops using radar there were some false alerts and so rates truly around average.
