idc bout voice alert so much as knowing the cops there, and while the valentine one may have false alerts ive seen in person where the 9500 doesnt even go off for a real cop that u could plainly see gunning people, cuase it locked it out….sooooo id rather it go off false alert than none at all. just my opinion tho…test them urself …valentine one has a money back guarantee …if u dont like it after u try both just return one assuming escort has the same moneyback policy

Laser jammers are NOT ILLEGAL! Laser is controlled by the FDA, whereas Radar Jammers are ILLEGAL! Radar is controlled by the FCC!

These days the authorities are cracking down very heavily on traffic law violations and they are using every tool at their disposal to do it. You gotta remember that municipalities, counties and even states are running in the red because of the crappy economy. They know that traffic fines are a revenue source and they will use it. Here in Georgia they just passed something called the superspeeder laws which call for higher fines for speeding above 85 in the superhighway or 75 on 2 lane roads.

Also, in places like Florida, they pace you from airplanes and actually measure your speed versus marks on the road. Then they radio the cops and tell them exactly which car was speeding and they pull you over.
I find that the best and most foolproof method of avoiding tickets is to drive at the speed limit or maybe a few miles per hour higher. Sorry to bust the bubble of you V1 fan boys, even the V1 can’t help you under conditions as I describe (the V1 is any better, it’s just more expensive).

I also had a laser blocker . I still have my Bel RX65 but I don’t even use it anymore. Like others have said, there is no good defence against the laser except with the laser shifter which are getting outlawed in more states all the time. In reality, even the best radar detectors wont help you against the “instant -on” radars that a lot of cops use. They shoot you right when they see you and you are screwed.

I’ve tried many different radar detectors including the Passports and the V1. I remeber the earliest models which were big, bulky and would not work for shit. Most of them could not detect a airforce radar array at 300 feet LOL. They actually used to set off the radar units “before” you would drive within range…

Disable X-band on the V1. All the false alerts disappear. No cops use X.

Ka is all you need.

The V1 alerts you to every possible radar source nearby. This includes every door opener, leaky radar detector and probably every microwave over around The problem with this is that you get so used to false alarms that you will ignore the real thing when it comes along… I tried the V1 before and it was so freaking noisy all the time that I turned it off and sent it back.

same with the valentine 1 your busted against a Lidar speed gun . It will alart you to most radar but more and more cops are getting Lidar speed guns . to defeat radar detection . You can get a lidar jammer and use ur radar detector to be 99.9% safe but there a federal felony in many states being if you get caught useing one you will go to jail and get a major fine !

I have the Beltronic Pro RX65 and it works great if you shut off your x band like u said police and chp dont use that at all . ka band and pop mode is all you really need to have on . And it works well. But let me tell you this even with the pro65 if you come up to a chp officer or a police officer useing a Lidar speed gun your done because your pro65 wont even alert ya to that one at all works different then a laser gun thats why . I know i got busted . Take my word for it ! its fucking scary

well good look after you get your laser jammer because they are a federal felony in many states and you will go to jail if you get caught with one.

i have both and im going to agree about the bad things said about the v1. Its way too annoying i put it in my shitty truck. The 9500i can detect from behind. I personally like the 9500i better

The Laser Interceptor is considered the best among laser jammers. It is 2,400 dollars though. But you get what you pay for.

ordered a v1 today will throw up some vids – i get smokie on me all the time. getting a laser jammer also, shopping now.

I use my V1 on logic mode 2 and get no falses. It will register high level X band. But no cops here use that. I use it daily and have only one false in six months in the Antelope Valley Ca. We have Ka and Laser in use here daily by the CHP and the LA County Sherrif. My my CX7/8500 has a lot of trouble with false X band in auto so I use CITY. Brand fans suck with their STORIES

I don’t know how you can tell a false alert from a real threat. To me the sound is the same. I would be slowing down a lot for a few times and then I’d begin to ignore the V1. That would make it worthless! I have a Bel RX65 which is similar to the escort but without the GPS. It gives less false alerts than the V1 but still goes off too much & I ignore. I tried the V1 yrs ago but hated the false alarms. I wish the V1 had GPS. I’d try it again.

When you own a V1 for a year or so.. it talks to you! Until you own a V1, you wont understand this! The brrp brrp .. …brrp brrp. …. in almost perfect cycle is false alarms. when its not consistent, like.. brrp brrp brrrrrp brrp brp…brp brp brp.. Always a threat!

Only way I could put it in text. Plus the reason it BEEPS so much is because when you pass the radar source, it’s rear antenna takes over monitoring the threat while the front antenna monitors for new threats. PRICELESS !
